If You Can Stand the Heat, Stay in the Kitchen

How can ambiguity and conflict be productive in innovation work?

Going where our organization has never gone before is a stressful endeavor. Innovating entails a high level of uncertainty and risk. When the very practices and structures that some folks helped construct are now being challenged as outdated or irrelevant, tensions run high. Managing the conflicts fostered by innovative work is a huge leadership responsibility. In this workshop we will ‘turn up the heat’ in ways that let us experience our natural response to such conflicts and explore ways in which we can handle critical moments with dignity and effectiveness.
