How important is effective conflict management to the success of arts and culture organizations? Help us find out by sharing your experiences in our quick poll!

For the last five years, EmcArts has designed and run programs that assist organizations in developing the capacities they need to adapt to this new era and to incubate innovative strategies in response to persistent challenges.

One of the common threads we’ve found among highly adaptive organizations is that they are able to productively use the conflict that inevitably arises when deeply held values are questioned to strengthen their pursuit of innovative new approaches.

The goal of this poll is to explore the relationship between conflict management and adaptive capacity more fully. Now more than ever, it’s essential that we use data to understand why and how some arts organizations are successfully generating innovative new strategies that contribute to the creative vitality of their communities, while others are struggling to adapt and contributing little value.

Our work suggests that effective conflict management around new ideas is a crucial skill for the adaptive organization, but we need your help to find out more. We invite staff and board members at non-profit arts and culture organizations to fill out our survey by Friday, September 28th.

We hope you’ll take a moment to reflect on your own conflict management style and how your organization stacks up so that others in the field can learn from your experience. All individual responses are completely anonymous.

Later this fall, we’ll publish our results here on ArtsFwd.org.
